Everyone knows that Wang Wanwan is engaged in studying abroad and immigrating.
Many students sent us private messages backstage to learn more about their experience in studying business. Wang Wanwan responded to requests and invited KCL seniors to explain the Banking & Finance major in detail.
Application background:
Domestic 211&985 Finance; GPA: 85+; IELTS: 7; two relevant internship experiences; personal statement required
Major:
KCL King's College London Banking & Finance MSc
Curriculum:
This major has a total of 6 required courses and 9 elective courses (choose 3). See Figure 2. Finance majors in British universities generally have mid-term and final exams. There are few papers and exams are the most important . 20% of the midterm grade plus 80% of the final grade. Although midterms account for a small proportion, they must be treated well , a bit like normal midterms in China. The characteristic of KCL's major is that the teachers may be executives from banks, and their understanding of some professional knowledge will be more practical. One advantage of this is that when you are about to graduate, you can get professional advice from top people in the industry.
Subject Difficulty
Regarding how to successfully obtain a diploma, graduate courses are more theoretical, which means that each course will have a large number of reading tasks . Moreover, this year has also strengthened my self-discipline . Unlike domestic universities, British topics focus more on discussion and questioning, and students are required to complete in-depth thinking on a certain issue independently after class. As for the problem-solving ideas in the financial discipline, you will definitely find examples in the resources left by the teacher, but you still need to dig in and study them yourself .
Why do you choose this major
First of all, I hope to work in a bank after graduation . The KCL major is relatively vertical. In addition, a more important point is that because kcl ranks very high, the first task at that time was to prepare for kcl application. Because the average undergraduate score is above 85, I wanted to rush to G5 when I applied. I personally think this will be very helpful for returning to China to find a job in the future. (Because I have heard that domestic companies will have a ranking of foreign universities, I am definitely right to choose G5)
school life
KCL's campus is in the center of London , and business school students can enjoy the beautiful views of the London Eye, Big Ben and the Thames River from this campus. In addition, life in London is very convenient. In your spare time, you can go shopping in Soho and eat in Chinatown. Of course, if you decide to study and live in London, you need to control your budget. Tuition fees, accommodation and consumption will be relatively high here .
